This page says what information Garage Doorman collects, why, and what happens to it. Last updated 19 Sep 2026. ## What we collect When you call or email us about a garage door, we collect what is needed to do the job: your name, phone number, email address, the service address, and details about the door and opener being worked on. If we install a door for you we keep the order details, because that is what lets us order a matching section years later if one gets damaged. ## What we use it for - Scheduling, dispatching and performing the work you asked for. - Quotes, invoices and service records. - Contacting you about work in progress, or about something on your door we flagged for follow-up. - Warranty claims with a door or opener manufacturer, where a claim needs the original order. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone. It is shared only with the software and suppliers used to run the business, such as scheduling and invoicing software and the door manufacturer on a warranty claim, and only as far as your job requires. ## This website This website has no accounts and no advertising cookies, and nothing here is sold or shared with advertisers. When you visit, the hosting provider records standard technical logs such as IP address and pages requested, in order to serve the site and keep it secure, as effectively every website’s host does. A few other things are worth naming plainly. ### If you send us something through the site The contact form and the door designer send us what you type: your name, how to reach you, and the details of the door. That reaches the same inboxes as a phone call would, and is used the same way, to quote and do the work. ### Visit statistics We count visits using a first-party tool run by Blue Crane Works, the company that built this site. It records which pages were viewed, roughly where the visit came from, and which site sent you. It does not identify you and it does not follow you to other websites. ### Microsoft Clarity We also use [Microsoft Clarity](https://clarity.microsoft.com/) to see how pages are actually used: where people scroll, what they click, and a replay of the movements through a page. That is more than a page count and we would rather say so than bury it. It sets its own cookies and the recording is held by Microsoft. **What Clarity never records is anything you type.** Microsoft states that content in input boxes *"is masked in all modes and can’t be customized"*, and that Clarity *"never captures anything that is masked or sent over the wire"*. Your name, phone number, email and address typed into the contact form are never sent to Microsoft, and that is not a setting anyone here could switch off later. ## Calls and messages Phone calls are not recorded. Voicemail, text messages and email about a job are kept with the job record so the next person who picks up the file can see what was already discussed. ## Enquiries sent by an AI assistant This website publishes a machine-readable business card at /mcp, so an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Claude can read our published facts, search these pages, and, if you ask it to, send us a quote request on your behalf. - **It arrives where the form arrives.** A request sent this way reaches the same inbox, by the same route, as one you type in yourself. It is clearly marked as having come from an assistant, because nobody here can verify details typed by a program. - **Only what you asked it to send.** We receive the name, contact details, town and description the assistant passes on, and nothing else. We do not receive your conversation with it and we have no access to your account with that company. - **We never email that address back.** Because the address came from a program rather than a person, we do not send a confirmation to it. That stops anyone using our mail to message a stranger. You hear from a person instead. - **Everything it can read is already public.** The facts file and page index it searches contain only what is published on this website. ## How long we keep it Customer and job records are kept as long as they are needed to stand behind the work, honour warranties, and meet tax and legal record-keeping obligations, and then disposed of. ## Your rights We handle personal information in accordance with the federal [Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)](https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/P-8.6/).
